Hi! I’m Peter Genders, a Hobart-based building inspector with over 30 years of experience in the building and construction industry. As a building inspector, I bring a wealth of knowledge from my previous roles as project manager and team leader on large construction projects, which I draw on to ensure your property is fit for purpose.

As your building inspector, I will be thorough, persistent and forensic in my approach. If something doesn’t add up during my inspection, you can trust that I will not let go until getting to the bottom of the issue. I will draw on my experience as a licenced builder to ensure nothing falls through the cracks. To ensure no stone is left unturned, I’ll even get under your house, in and on your roof (as long as it’s safe).

If I find defects during your inspection, you can expect an honest assessment of the issues in your comprehensive inspection report. Where required I will supply a Certification of Defects Certificate to present to your conveyancer.

I also have a vast network of Engineers, Building Surveyors and other Building Inspectors to share or enquire with for more complex issues that may require specialist trade advice.

I am highly available and will bend over backwards to fit in your inspection requirements, even at late notice.

My job is to provide an independent and objective assessment of the physical condition of your building, and I take it very seriously. I do not rely on Real Estate Agents for referrals and am not concerned with the politics that goes along with it – my only concern is making sure you have all the facts before you make your investment decision.
